2019 Envision-Atwell Award call for nominations

The Envision-Atwell Award is in honor of former NEI program officer and long-time low vision research supporter Constance Atwell. While on staff at the National Eye Institute, Dr. Atwell played a pivotal role in encouraging and motivating high quality low vision research. The award sponsor, Envision of Wichita Kansas, has a long history of service to the low vision and blind community and continues to provide support annually to LVRG for the award and the social event. The Envision-Atwell Award is given to an ARVO presenter who is a junior investigator, defined as an individual who is actively engaged in low vision, visual impairment and / or visual rehabilitation research and who is currently a student, post-doctoral researcher, or junior faculty member with less than five years since his/her last professional degree. The nominee must be the first author on an abstract accepted for podium or poster presentation at the 2019 ARVO meeting and must be the person who makes the presentation at the meeting.
